September 12-14, 2012
The 2012 reunion was a three day celebration in 3 mountain villages in Abruzzo. Many of our ancestors came from these villages. What a party it was. If you have a video from the reunion and would like it listed here, please contact James Michael Calderone and he will find a way to link it.
Day 1 – Sept 12, Ofena
On the first day of the reunion we gathered in Ofena. After a presentation by th Pro Loco, Irene passed the mic to all participants who spoke a bit about their family and why they came to the reunion. Afterwards, we partied and mingled and enjoyed a huge assortment of local pastery. At some point during the reunion we toured the local Gentile winery.

Day 2 – Sept 13, Villa Santa Lucia degli Abruzzi.
On day two of the reunion we took city tours of Villa Santa Lucia, winding through the streets with an interpreter and local residents. Afterwards we toured a small museum in the center of town. There were cakes and coffee. This was concluded with a picnic in the center of town. We were encouraged to all bring something to the picnic if possible.

Day 3 – Sept 14 Carrufo
The final day of the event started with a Mass held in between Villa and Carrufo. We later made our way to the village where the Pro Loco held some speeches. A tour of the city was given and the local museum was opened. The day ended with a party in square. If you missed it, you missed a good one.
